The Concrete Advantage (Summary #Draft 1)

This article “The Concrete Advantage”, taken from Green Rooftops website is stating that waterproofing concrete is a better choice for green rooftops. The downfalls for green roofs are high cost and ineffective as compared to waterproofing concrete.

The features for the concrete is that it is forever waterproof, membraneless and cracks can be quickly recover. Permanent waterproof helps to prevent damages, last long during construction and maintenance phase thus able to reduce cost and time. Membraneless feature helps to reduce design time, no need to replace the membrane this it will have high sustainability. Lastly is the ability to fix the cracks without affecting neighboring plants and medium. Overall, waterproof concrete is better in saving time, cost and more reliable.

    Some points to take note:
    - Article has most of the key points except one which explains the detailing and designing of membrane is eliminated.
    - Key points should be cited with connectors (e.g the article further explains) so information is delivered clearly.
    - All key points are paraphrased, but they can be better.
